HOMEGROWN was originally formed in 2004 to play contra music at the Texas Folk Dance Camp. Since all of the band’s musicians had expertise playing international folk dance music as well as contra music, the band’s focus gradually shifted to being an international folk dance band.Currently, the band is composed of the following members (from left to right): Dena Houston (guitar, percussion), Franklin Houston (accordion, trumpet, flute), Anne Alexander (fiddle, pennywhistle, saz, hurdy-gurdy, percussion, vocals), Holly Plotner (fiddle, percussion, vocals).
