Featuring:
Bizourka!!! (8-9:10 pm)

Comment from Richard: "Bizourka is today's easygoing low-impact mazurka as done in northern France into Belgium (Flanders). The dancers there also go out dancing other forms, because they love all dancing, beyond folk dancing, and have blended subtle elements of salsa and tango into their mazurka. It's low impact and very much fun to do. The music is also great, either traditional French mazurkas or bluesy/jazzy versions that sound like mazurka as done by Ry Cooder. I just taught it as the 40th Anniversary Laguna Festival and they *loved* it."
This is a partner dance, but no is partner required - there will be plenty of rotations during the class.
And:
American Line Dances!!! (9:20-10:30 pm)

Comment from Richard: "We'll take a quick look at the 1958 Madison, then the fascinating evolution of the first four-wall line dance, the Hully-Gully (1962). The evolution includes how the French modified it, becoming what they now call Le Madison, the Italian version as still done today, the 1978 disco version, and the very minor change that became the Electric Slide. Then for contrast, I'll include the Jo'n'Jo Tango line dance and a fun Charleston Line Dance."
